ASU Leadership Academy kicks off its 14th Cohort

As Arizona State University continues to transform higher education, a new wave of campus leaders is stepping up to shape its future. Thirty-seven faculty and staff members from across the enterprise are launching Cohort XIV of the ASU Leadership Academy — a signature program designed to sharpen leadership mindsets, drive institutional innovation, and propel the ASU Charter into action.

Part of the University Design Institute’s suite of leadership development programs, Leadership Academy has supported the growth of more than 400 leaders across ASU since launch, over a decade ago.

The Leadership Academy equips faculty and staff at all levels to lead with purpose, collaboration, and an enterprise mindset. Grounded in ASU-Centric Leadership, the Academy is built upon the ASU Charter, Design Aspirations, goals, the model of a public enterprise, ASU’s evolutionary history, and ASU’s Nine Dimensions of Leadership. This framework has been foundational to ASU's transformation and continued success. By cultivating these mindsets and practices among current and future leaders, the Leadership Academy strengthens our collective capacity to advance the university's mission, foster innovation, and create an environment in which learners, faculty, staff, and the communities we serve can thrive.

The 2026–27 cohort formally launches on August 5, welcoming 37 faculty and staff leaders from across the university. Throughout the academic year, participants will engage in three immersive two-day workshops, complete an individualized leadership project that applies learning to a real organizational challenge, and participate in peer learning. Participants also join a growing network of more than 400 Leadership Academy alumni, strengthening cross-university collaboration and leadership across the ASU Enterprise. 

ASU Leadership Academy, alongside the Advanced Leadership Initiative, are senior-level leadership development programs, part of the University Design Institute, preparing ASU’s next generation of leaders. To date, the two programs have graduated more than 550 leaders across ASU.
