Oca explains why universities cannot stand still in a rapidly changing world. He emphasizes transformation as essential, not optional, pointing to technological shifts like AI as evidence that higher education must be agile, innovative, and willing to adapt in order to remain relevant and impactful.

Well, if we are aware of the world that we are in, and we know that there's so many things that need to be addressed, problems to be solved, we cannot be a university that just says, we're just here, we're doing well, then that's it. The problems that we face are just so great and big. But you will also have to say the university has to grow, has to be able to to to be flexible, adaptable, agile enough to to face these problems and be able to face even future problems like the pandemic, be able to, to have the capability to do that.

So transformation is necessary. It is something that is non-negotiable. So that's what I believe. And that's that's what's making us want to move forward. Like for example, with AI, you just cannot say, okay, I see, but I is growing, exponentially, and you just cannot say, "Okay. I'll just let it go."

So you you have you have to transform. You need to change. You need to move forward. And, and with the pace of the world is going, just cannot stay still. So it's non-negotiable. You have to. You have to transform.

The like minded people that you have, especially the the leadership that the team that I have, who share with you this, this, this desire, this dream, and also this, the need to to change, to transform. I think that that leadership team, and how we can be able to influence all of the other stakeholders. But, you know, it it's not difficult to convince people because I think they will see that really where we are, we can be much better.

And where we are, we have to be much better because there's so many things that need to be done. And and I think.

People are convinced. I mean, the university, will move because they believe in what you believe. And I think it's just a matter of just communicating that your, your deep desire to, to make the university really, live up to its vision and mission.
