Reflecting on AI’s rapid rise, Oca urges universities to adopt new technologies responsibly while keeping humanity at the center of learning. He highlights the need for innovation in assessment, clear guidelines, and an educational approach that preserves creativity, dignity, and the human experience.
First, I think we should not be afraid of AI. If you're afraid and say, I don't want to use AI, you're you. You're going to have a very difficult time, because then later on, you were very hard to catch up. So so use AI as a tool, but also be aware of the risks. Use a us AI responsibly.
Use AI for the good. And then use AI always with the that always with the priority that it had. For for humanity. And what is human to be top most and that there should be a a people who will always constantly come together. In the, in the university to, to to talk about AI.
What are we doing? What there's what how is it developing? Are we, Are we responding? Do we see the risks? What are we doing about it? So constantly. So we have guidelines and we know that these guidelines can be fluid. Because I will continue to change and to move forward. So, yes. So just be responsible. Just be aware, and then continuously monitor how we use AI, but not to be afraid of it and then use it really as a tool for learning.
